WWL article

quote:

The battle over how to demolish the partially-collapsed and unstable Hard Rock construction site is far from over.

It’s been more than six months since the building under construction, collapsed, killing three workers and causing $5 million in damages and emergency response as estimated by the city.

On-going negotiations between the city and 1031 Canal Development LLC kept stalling, first, it was over who the contractor will be to do the demolition.

quote:

1031 Canal has also filed a new court motion on Tuesday asking Judge Reese to stop the city from forcing the developer to begin demolition next week.

This may be the greatest shitshow ever witnessed.

Has she blamed Trump yet? She should do that. Trump should’ve told her not to have the code enforcement office approve lax regulations for structural design details.

Edit: judging by the downvotes, either there are a bunch of closet Latoya supporters here or yalls sarcasm meters are broken.

They could at least retrieve the bodies/what's left of them while basically no one is on the streets.

Did the plan with Kolb grading with a top down demo get approved? If so why is the City (allegedly) still pushing DH Griffin to implode it?

If DH Griffin truly couldn’t insure the implosion and the City/State won’t hold harmless everyone involved then what’s the point?

Let's start coming up with new PR slogans for New Orleans.

New Orleans: Like Haiti, but with none of the charm.

Unfortunately, there is no way to safely do that. At this point, the structure should be removed and the families compensated. There is not a good solution here for the families.

Very doubtful. Maybe one of the bodies could be done, but not the one that's buried deeper in.
All it be now anyway is trying to pull pieces of bones out anyway.

It looks like it was written by a fourth grader. It's unreal what modern media has become, especially at the local level these days.

This is why Louisiana is looked upon as a beacon of light and forward thinking.

If the rest of the country could be fortunate enough to be more like Louisiana.

Not getting the bodies removed is shameful at every level.
