The first time I heard Magic Man on the radio as a little boy, I instantly fell in love. I didn't even need to see her.

That voice is one of a kind and it cuts right through me to my soul. I am very fortunate to have seen them several times over the years and they will always be one of my very favorites.

Chunky or not, their cover of Stairway to Heaven when they honored Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center was pretty fantastic.

Was coming to post this. May be the best cover ever.

Probably same for me, I remember those 70’s hits as a young kid. Fascinating vocals. It was much later when I realized Ann Wilson was a hottie back then.

What?

Was music invented in 1968?

Billie Holiday? Ella Fitzgerald?

Ann Wilson was the best female rock singer, but Debbie Harry was much cooler. (I like them both, btw).

I remember when she was a Bunny in the Cincinnati club.

Might I suggest the real life person that inspired Tess Tubo

No doubt that Debbie Harry was very cool, and Tide is High especially is a classic tune, one that i like to listen to from time to time becuase it’s in a class of it’s own, vibe-wise.. i cant think of another song like it .. bet let’s be honest, Debbie Harry isnt in Ann Wilson’s league in terms of vocal chops, and that’s what this thread has mostly been about .

Another one id add to my original list of six on the prior page is Minnie Riperton.. but since she only had one really recognizable song, id make her an honorable mention.. but wow what a vocal performance she gave in that song .

When you have a career spanning 6 decades and do not make your list you need to get out more.

I would rather go blind

Memphis Minnie did "When the Levee Breaks" a good 50+ years before Zeppelin covered it

… Ann Wilson is the only one with a legit claim to ever be one of the best voices in rock history, regardless of gender
