Bart would be 45 by now. Older than Homer was when the show premiered.

And he would definitely be in fight club.

First 10 seasons were fantastic. Then it got preachy woke.

The Simpsons has never been woke… beyond Lisa always being that before we even had a term for it. And she’s made ample fun of for it.

The 90s Simpsons is probably the cleverest show in TV history. They had some fantastic writers competing against each other. Not to mention the unsurpassed satire on American culture.

It dumbed down considerably in the 00s as they lost writing talent.

It's a near perfect first episode for the series. Funny, relatable, and wholesome in the end.

Who has been this show's audience the past 25 years? I don't know a single person who has watched the show since the first 7 or 8 seasons...

Grew up watching it every Sunday with my Dad, and we still quote lines from episodes 25 years later. My son loves it too now and we'll watch a few episodes a week on Disney+

Same here. The first several seasons hold up really well. I think I'm about done with season 3, and my kids and I are both loving it.

I actually didn't watch the debut, but I remember it was pretty controversial because Bart was an acronym for brat and it was considered really trashy TV.

Only 1989? I was 9 then. I swear I thought I watched the Simpsons well before that. I guess not though.

The Simpsons was the last show we all made time for and sat as a family to watch. Lots of memories.

I have not watched an episode in a good while.

Haven’t watched it in years.

I used to love the Simpsons but, gonna be honest, South Park runs circles around the Simpsons now.

South Park does not miss when they make fun of “issues” in the media or celebrity BS.

Their take on Disney and the CEO was so perfectly done

I remember when The Simpson’s was an animated short in The Tracey Ullman show.

Saw Harry Shearer in a New Orleans restaurant a few years ago. He voices a bunch of characters. That’s my Simpsons story.

Yeah Simpsons was the pioneer (for me at least) in non-kiddie animation. When it debuted, there was no competition. Kids watched cartoons and adults did not. Since then, I’ve enjoyed others more such as Archer, Family Guy, South Park. I’m not at all interested in Simpsons anymore.

South Park does insult comedy well.

Those early Simpsons seasons were way more witty though.

A bunch of us late 20yr olds actually had "viewing parties" the first year or so.

It was a good excuse to get together... great show back then.

Haven't watched in 20 years at least....
