inb4 get off my lawn
Parents take their kids to "safe zones" like churches, trunk or treat, parking lots or down commercial streets/Main Street. Kids get bused in from one neighborhood to another neighborhood.
I would make sure to stop at certain houses because they had the best popcorn balls and/or caramel apples

You’re probably right although we’ve been saying this same thing every year since Halloween’s second year

Where I live there’s a lot of people still out walking the streets. All the “safe zone” areas are done a day or two before Halloween. Streets will be full of kids on Halloween night.

Subdivision where my cousin lived, we would fill a pillow case jam packed with candy, before we hit the 1/2 point of subdivision.
I bet 1 out of every 10 homes gives out candy now

Halloween is the trashiest holiday.

WTF? How old are you?
I do feel like trick or treating is slowly being replaced with that trunk or treat crap. I think what it boils down to is parents don't want to be bothered taking their kids around the neighborhood. It's easier to go to a church parking lot and let the kiddies load up on candy and bring them back home after 30 minutes.

You just live in the wrong place.

The Church Fall Festival crowd that tells their daughter that Halloween is evil is setting her up for a spread them legs orgy fest in college. Protestants are so short-sighted.

I take my kids tick-or-treating in da hood. It’s a real frightening experience for them. Last year there was a drug addict spazzing out in the middle of the road. I told the kids he was possessed by Satan. Toothless meth whore answers the door? It’s a real ghoul. Kids love it.

What kind of crappy parents don’t like taking their kids trick or treating. That has always been such a fun night

I live in a gated community, no “busing in”, and great quality candy.

Back in the day they would steal your front gate.
