I'm so sorry to hear that. Pets truly become family members that those without them just don't understand.

When my last dog died, this poem brought me comfort. Hopefully it does the same for you:

“There is a cycle of love and death that shapes the lives of those who choose to travel in the company of animals. It is a cycle unlike any other. To those who have never lived through its turnings and walked its rocky path, our willingness to give our hearts with full knowledge that they will be broken seems incomprehensible. Only we know how small a price we pay for what we receive; our grief, no matter how powerful it may be, is an insufficient measure of the joy we have been given.” - Suzanne Clothier

Put this sweet baby down last week. Still pretty torn up about it. I'm dog free for the first time in 20 years. Not sure I like it.

He was a beautiful lil fellow. Prayers for you as your pup crosses the Rainbow Bridge.

Do him a favor........ When the time is right adopt another one or two from your local shelter.

Take care!

He also had a great owner and I’m sure he knew that in spades.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Wish there was something profound I could say to ease your pain. Just know I recently lost my buddy too of 14 years, on April 8th, and it’s going to hurt for a while. A lot. I cried for a week and your loss brought a few tears to my eyes.

God Bless you and your very good boy, you both are in my prayers.

I’m so very sorry. They take a piece of us with them, and they are never with us long enough. I hold onto that we will see them again one day.

Sorry for your loss. Dogs are the best. Worst thing ever in life is putting one down.

I had to put my 2 year old dog down because of lymphoma. I was 24 years old and it took me 20 years to get another dog. The wait was absolutely worth it because of my current dog. In the back of my mind, I know there will be a time I don’t have him and I don’t take a minute of fetch for granted.

Sucks. Had to put down my 9 year old golden A month ago . lymphoma in her back hind leg.. damn tumor grew like a wildfire and burst in a week.. lasted another 3 weeks before she became septic and we put her down. Vet said she’d only seen one other tumor blow up so fast and aggressive

Sorry bud. Had to put our 10 year old girl down 2 years ago in March from an aggressive cancer that took over quick. And we had just lost out 13 year old girl that same January from a heart attack on our bed.

We don't deserve dogs!

A vet friend of mine told me that at the time of death the dog looks around and sometimes calls for it’s master one last time. That hit deep for me as I just left the room for my grandma’s dog when his time came.

The best years and the single worst day. I feel for you. They’re around far too short.
