Man, frick that.
It’s hard to explain but I caught myself falling asleep and I couldn’t move my body. I kept trying to move my arm and nothing. I started to panic for sure. It was odd to be conscious and unable to do anything.
After about 15-20 seconds I was able to snap out of it.
Luckily no hallucinations occurred or anything like that.
Any of you had this happen? I wouldn’t recommend it...

It sucks. Happens 3-5 times a year.

This should help you sleep better at night.

There are some creepy as frick photos if you search “Old Hag Syndrome.” I had it happen to me once and it was the scariest thing I experienced. I couldn’t move or breath for about 30 seconds. I started looking into it because I never heard of it before and it happened about 20 years ago.

The night hag or old hag is the name given to a supernatural creature, commonly associated with the phenomenon of sleep paralysis. It is a phenomenon during which a person feels a presence of a supernatural malevolent being which immobilizes the person as if sitting on their chest or the foot of their bed. The word "night-mare" or "nightmare" was used to describe this phenomenon before the word received its modern, more general meaning.[1] Various cultures have various names for this phenomenon and/or supernatural character.

It's been a while since it's happened to me. At least a couple of years. It definitely does suck.

Sounds like a stroke
Have rummy set up a go fund me and sticky the thread.
Naaa I’ve had them all my life. Every couple months I’ll have spells where it happens a couple times a night for a few day period.

I'm not sure if this is sleep paralysis, but I occasionally get a dead arms or legs for 30 seconds or so after I wake up from a really deep nap. There's nothing more frustrating than having a phone go off and trying to figure out how to make your arms work to answer it.

I only really get it when I take a nap after pure exhaustion.
One of the most terrifying feelings

Had it several times one year and then not again for years. Have had it on occasion but I recognize it and can break out of it now.

Have had it four times. Each time I hallucinated and tried to call out for help but couldn't talk. Couldn't move, couldn't talk. It is probably the most horrifying experience I have ever had.

Same thing happened to me one night after I ran into Bill Cosby at a bar.

I haven’t had it happen in years, but that’s exactly how it felt. It’s freaky.

I've never had it, but my mom did once. Ten or so years later and I'm still trying to convince her she wasn't abducted by aliens.

Happens to me once a year or so, usually when I’m so tired.

Lucky you. It happened to me at 15 and I thought I had dogs barking and growling around me
