Wait till you feel an evil presence in the midst of it. Terrifying.

Have it happen a couple times a year. Terrifying feeling

It happened to me while napping in a custom van back in the early 90s. I woke up from a nap and could not move a muscle. I didn’t know what was happening and thought I may be paralyzed. But, just few minutes later I was able to sit up and was back to normal. Weirdest thing ever.

You should watch "The Haunting of hill house" if this freaks you out.

Had this happen a few years ago. I was going through a period of not getting enough sleep that I think triggered it. Had a hallucination of a tall shadowy figure standing at the foot of my bed. I tried to scream for help but nothing came out except heavy breathing. Then I snapped out of it pretty quickly when I realized what was going on. Pretty freaky shite.

You were just abducted but the paralysis hadn't worn off yet.

I’ve had this happen to me so many times that I have figured out I can huff and kinda grunt. My wife knows to wake me up if she hears it. It hasn’t happen lately but it used to happen 40-50 times a year

A few years later, I saw a human silhouette standing in the corner of the room. Involuntarily, I sat up in bed and starting yelling at it at the top of my lungs for several seconds before I regained my bearings
Same here man, the worst was when you see them moving closer to you. But once you realize it’s happening, you just wait for it be over.

I have recurring nightmares that something is in my room, and I either can't move, or something bad happens when I try to turn on the lights.I 'll dream the same thing over, and over, until I actually wake up.
When I was home from college one weekend in the 80's, my mom came and woke me up in the middle of the night. She said I was moaning. I was dreaming that something grabbed me by the hand and was swinging me in the air.
I had one of the ones where I couldn't move a couple of months ago. I woke up from it needing to go urinate. I'm usually mad when I have to get up for that too often. That night, I was happy.

Got it several times when I went through a long period with little real sleep following a back injury. I was lucky to get a full hour of sleep without spasms waking me up.
Had frequent and different experiences. I don’t know how to explain it other than it was kind of like the dream stage was starting (or ending) with my eyes open and basic consciousness.
Been several years now since that shitty Summer and I haven’t experienced it again.
Sleep deprivation seems to be the common theme here.

Aw hell naw. I don’t do scary/creepy as shite movies. Why the hell would I want to watch something that is going to reduce my ability to sleep at night?

It's hell. It never happened to me until I learned about it in high school. Now it will happen once in a blue moon. Typically while I'm taking a nap on the couch as opposed to sleeping in my bed at night.

I just remembered the most recent time it happened, I dreamed a German Shepard was biting my foot through the sheet when I couldn't move. I have nerve and vascular damage to my left leg. I've dreamed rats were biting the foot, and a car fell on the leg before too.

I have narcolepsy. It used to happen to me in the mornings, when I tried to wake up. Happened some times during the day if I took a nap, too. Hasn't been a problem since I got diagnosed and take the meds.

At least you can rest easier now that you now know what is causing your paralysis
