Store level management has no idea what they’re doing. Few of them have any meaningful experience. A lot of the associates work their asses off, but a lot of them are lazy AF. Management won’t do anything to correct it because they’re having a hard enough time replacing those that leave. The whole company is cheap AF. Workers don’t have the equipment they need to get the job done and those that already work hard are continuously asked to push harder. The buildings themselves are falling apart, too. It’s just an all-around shite show.

It's Walmart. None of this is news.

Going down fast?

Walmart has been a shite show for a long time.

The Walton family didn't get to be filthy rich by paying exorbitant wages to all of their unskilled labor force.

Sounds like you're pissed they asked you for a better headshot. Doesn't Walmarks have a photography section?

Why go to Walmart when you can go to target?

Walmart Market stores actually have staff that are nice looking, polite and actually try to assist.

WMT super centers; not so much.

Every Target I've been in lately has an incredible amount of bare shelving

My dad worked for walmart for 22/23 years. Most of them as an assistant manager in Bayou Vista. He left in the mid 2000's because he saw the writing on the wall. They were pushing out older management and replacing them with younger ones due to pay. Tehy hadn't necessarily threatened him or anything yet but he knew it was coming. Anyway, all that to say they made their bed by running out good management. This is the result.

The one by my house never has enough cashiers. It was an issue long before Covid.

Yeah but walmart.com is pretty good. I prefer ordering from them over Amazon, Amazon has become total shite.

They don't need good management because they know people will shop there no matter what due to the low prices. The OP also mentioned the buildings falling apart. I'd imagine walmart looks at these buildings as disposable assets. If it falls apart, they can build another one and be in the black in a year.

We go to one of these every ~3 months for pet food. Sometimes the experience is great; sometimes its miserable. I try to keep it to 8am on weekdays for optimal chances of a good experience.

Haven't been inside of a super Walmart or a Target in ~3 years, though I've ordered a couple things from each online.
