Was on the coast this weekend. Everywhere we went - the resort, restaurants, retail, etc, all were well, well shorthanded. All had multiple signs saying they were hiring, offering bonuses for new hires, increased hourly wages, etc.

It was absolutely impacting the level of service they could offer.

And it's only early May. It's going to get worse as tourism picks up this summer.

I know some people think our society can just let everyone stay home and collect a basic income check, but we aren't there yet. Either the government needs to end this experiment, or automation is about to skyrocket.

Don’t this is exclusive to the MS coast

It’s nationwide. People don’t want to work anymore.

Yeah, well, Just talked to a buddy yesterday. He was laid off from the oil field last April, and is collecting 3200/mo. Says it’s gonna last until September and will likely be extended.

Also said the companies that want to pay low wage, he’ll milk the system like the Democrats have always dove and ride it til it’s last drop.

And he ain’t alone.

Democrats want a national $15 min wage. They will get it one way or another.

Keep continuing covid unemployment and businesses will be forced to raise wages or cut back services because of no staff.

We recently went on a little get away and went to a pretty good restaurant. The manager was having to wait tables and told us they can't get workers to come in and nobody is willing to take server spots.

We never will be there, and to think we ever will be there is equivalent to resigning yourself to the end of our country as we know it.

Unfortunately once you go down this road there is no turning back. Politicians are buying votes with the free money - who would dare to to vote to end unemployment benefits and basically give up their seat?

So they should lower prices and pay employees more?

The type of people normally filling the most in demand jobs are perfectly happy staying home as long as they can afford their phone, tv, food, booze and put some gas in car
