I find it weird grown men still use words like “Playa,” but to each their own.

One of my favorite bands came to New Orleans last August and played in Champion's Square. There was no way I was going to stand in the hot, humid weather to watch them or any band for that matter. I'm too old to stand and sweat.

what a terrible thread.

I promise, go to one live show of someone you really love, have one too many beers, and check back in. It's still fun, no matter your age.

Yeah baw. You better come home from work so exhausted you don't have energy to even bang your wife much less play video games or go see live bands.

The amount of grown men on this website worrying about other grown men's interests is alarming.

Yup. There’s usually 1 or 2 bands I really want to see at Vodoo and others things like that, but I loathe big festivals and the unwashed masses that live for that shite every year.

One year I had to suffer through Erika Badou and whatever that creature she wore on her head was so I could get a good spot for STP.

haha... I went that year. Thoroughly enjoyed that STP show. And yeah, Badu was terrible (big surprise).

How does it feel to suck as much as you suck?

Live music is the shite. A good show will make you feel all the feels.

I like live music. I don't think there is an age limit when it comes to listening to some good live music. Seriously, I know older guys (men in their 50s-60s) who get together with their friends once or twice a month, on the weekend.. They or one of their friends play music and they go hang out.. and just listen to each other play music.. I know that's not going to a concert or going to a bar with a "real band", but they just enjoy the music and they are at least good enough to play songs they enjoy..

Why would someone think this was just a "college kid" thing?

Whoa, Phish is amazing. If you don’t like phish is cuz you just don’t get it bro.

Secondly, Phish has only come to New Orleans once in the last 15-20 years and it was at Jazzfest s few years back.

What do you think about these people? A guy I know (who is not gay), in his mid 30s, is just floored I have no interest in going to South by Southwest stuff all weekend.

I get the college kids, etc....but this seems odd to me that 30 and 40 something males are all giddy over live music.

SXSW is fricking awesome

You seem incredibly lame.
