I plan on the being the old guy at the concert that the kids wonder "why is he here?". Or......look at Grandpa......he is rockin!

Same. I can't wait to be that old guy, actually.

I wouldn't use the term "giddy"

yeah members of most bands i may have gotten giddy over are either dead or too old to perform. i'd be giddy as a school girl on prom night if I could see Led Zepplin live.

The day you stop worrying about stupid shite like the OP is when you start to understand freedom. Damn people worried too much about what others think

Hey now jackass, I'm one and I've been known to do a festival or 2 and I'm 45. It doesn't "excite" me but I do enjoy.

There's a difference between enjoying concerts and enjoying music festivals.

Yup. There’s usually 1 or 2 bands I really want to see at Vodoo and others things like that, but I loathe big festivals and the unwashed masses that live for that shite every year.

One year I had to suffer through Erika Badou and whatever that creature she wore on her head was so I could get a good spot for STP.

I love live music. Maybe my favorite thing besides golf and LSU football to do.

When one thinks about it, it's much dumber than live music.

And I love college football.

I get the college kids, etc....but this seems odd to me that 30 and 40 something males are all giddy over live music.

You mean it's odd that grown men have fun?

Never been to one but I could see the attraction with some decent acts

SXSW is awesome!

Live music is awesome.

At 44 the crowds may annoy me now. But find a place with under 100 people in it and a dude singing and playing guitar? Cold beer?

I’m confused. This mean I’m a beta? A fig?

I get excited bout local bands playing live original music. Yeah. I love music. What could possibly be age specific about that? Just because you age doesn’t mean you have to quit or die in your head, does it?

Being "grown" just means I can afford good seats that I never could as a kid. Seats where I can sit, be old, and just enjoy the show.

One of my favorite bands came to New Orleans last August and played in Champion's Square. There was no way I was going to stand in the hot, humid weather to watch them or any band for that matter. I'm too old to stand and sweat.

"grown men" who are so insecure with themselves that they have to question what actual grown men do have jumped the shark.

Some of you people seem to think you have to become absolutely miserable once you get older/have kids.

No interests. No hobbies. Just work.
