I'm 52 and have seen 1000's of live music acts. Disclaimer: I went to 3-4 shows a week from the age of 18-35. I don't get to as many shows these days but I'll still see 15-20 a year minimum. There is nothing better than live music.
ETA: Already on my calendar is David Byrne(twice this year), Queens of the Stone Age, Jack White, Weezer, Pixies, Primus, Erasure, Flock of Seagulls (and a bunch of other bands that day), Elton John.

i wouldn't bother with the headache of SXSW ... but am in my 40's and go see live music weekly. And not to mention it's a good night out with a lady friend.

As someone who is not particularly fond of live music and has no desire to attend concerts, I don't understand what you see odd about it.

There is something wrong with me.. Don't get me wrong, both have some good songs.. Well Florida Georgia Line might have a song.. maybe two that I like, but I would be more excited about seeing all the hot women going see them than actually going see them.
