Except that’s all in your head in fairy tale world. If you’re the beta in the situation they will see right through you no matter what. If Michael Jordan shows up to a c-suite negotiable with a suit and Jordan’s you think that changes a single damn thing?
I don’t like the casual shoes with a suit but there’s plenty of styles I don’t love. I’m not giving a damn if someone else wants to try and be trendy though.

If it has to do with comfort, most of the shoe companies make the same dress shoe, but with tennis shoe-like soles. I have a few from Johnston Murphy and they are amazing. I only have the casual dress shoes and have not yet bit on the dress shoes. Not ready to wear with a suit just yet.
If you are wearing tennis shoes because of comfort, go this route.
