For good reason too, screw worms are not to be trifled with in livestock

Why are they giving horse paste to livestock? /s

Costco was usually between 14-17/lb for prime ribeyes They are now between 26-28/lb, massive increase in the last few months Was just in Las Vegas yesterday for a doctor appt and stopped by Costco's on the way out. Bought a pack of 8 rib eyes, thin cut for $90. For the wife and I that gives us 4 meals. Just have to make sure I don't over cook them.

We get a lot at Costco but beef isn’t on that list, the chicken and pork prices are pretty decent but not much from a cow.

Bought some Boars Head Bologna the other day and it was over $10 lb. That’s kind of crazy.

I'm a firm believer in the customer sets the price on most items in a free market.

Most good and services are only worth what someone will pay for them. If people stop buying 20 dollar ribeye's the price will come down. Same for most all non necessity items, like Cars, Trucks, hand saws, whatever. It obvious doesn't work on things like electricity, water etc. where there are limited providers or single source providers and it's something that you realistically cannot just stop using until process return to normal.

But for most everything else you can with a little discipline and unconvinced effectively control the price with your purchasing power.

Right now people are paying 36 dollars for 2 ribeye steaks and even more one some other items, There is zero incentive for producers to reduce price if you're buying them at over inflated prices.

I whole heartedly do not believe the government should ever step in to regulate prices on items like this unless as I mentioned above its a limited or sole source goods or services situation basically a monopoly.

Used to be I could get two ribeye prime steaks at Sams for around $30. Even during Covid it was in the mid-30's.

Now it's in the 50s to 60's range.

Only place I used to buy steaks in BR was Maxwells. I think they were $25 to $29 per steak for a ribeye. I just shoot a deer, Nilgai, Axis or Sika when I need red meat.

Paid $134 to have a whitetail buck processed this week.

Was not there a massive livestock kill off in the name of Climate Change during Biden?

Ribeyes are $20 per pound at Wal Mart.

They were $15 a pound when Trump took office. You should go down the diabetes aisle at Wal Mart. Chips and Sodas are off the charts expensive as well. Only eggs have come down in price under Trump.
