Grizzly's on Kodiak Island are much bigger than that. Get big on all the salmon.

No other carnivore can defeat a Kodiak brown.

Locally too

ABC Islands Bear

quote:

This brown bear population has a unique genetic structure, which relates them not only to brown bears but to polar bears as well.[1] Ursus arctos sitkensis habitat exists within the Tongass National Forest, which is part of the perhumid rainforest zone.

They can get over 1,000 lbs on these islands. Admiralty Island which is 3 miles from the island I live on has over 1,800 of these bears, more than one per square mile.

The larger bear was giving ground and jr kept advancing. Several times jr struck for the larger bears throat. THEN, the winning bear made his move and that was that.

Why'd we domesticate wolves when we could have pet bears for man's best friend?

I just don't believe there is a mammal out there that could defeat a grizzly bear in a fair matchup (i.e., both at peak health and strength).

Maybe, if he could get on top of the bear and crush it or hit it with the horn at the right angle. But I think I'd still bet on the bear.

At about 1 minute I was thinking what a shitty, non-event fight, but then damn that got aggressive quick. The big bear ate the smaller one up

Think those things get upwards of 4K lbs, see the video of the rhino tossing around an SUV like a rag doll on here the other day? still think the bull elephant takes them both

Bears are monsters compared to humans, but they aren't hurting a rhino or elephant.

I did the feed/pet a rhino at the San Diego Zoo and those things are basically armor plated tanks. I could have hit it with a spiked baseball bat and I'm not sure it would have felt it.

A regular rhino is 2.5 times heavier than the heaviest grizzly too. It would just stomp out or ram the bear.
