00z GFS showing 35 to 50" in the DC area... That might not be as crazy as it sounds, the other night the Para Euro (upgraded version of the best model in the world) showed 40" in the area. True insanity.

Breaking the scales

I'm sad I'll miss the big one. We moved from DC 3 years ago, now in Williamsburg and going to dodge the big snow here. I'd like to experience a big snow like this once in my life.

Sons group got a flight for Sunday out of DCA ... I'm betting it won't take off.

6Z GFS is putting 54 inches just south of DC.. probably 50 in DCA

might be looking at 12 solid hours of blizzard conditions (1/4 mi visibility and 35 mph wind)

Flying out of CHO in 10 minutes and not too soon looking at weather map. Should reach here in 3 hours

Expecting 24-30 inches in the mountains west of here

Iirc you started a thread awhile back about this trip for your son. I wonder how many girls he got pregnant.

Six inches here in west Asheville and it is snowing like a bitch. They are forecasting about a foot here through tomorrow morning.

Lol Nope not me but another mom who didn't know whether or not to let her kid go due to possibility of terrorists. I encouraged her to let him go as my son had been last year and was going again.

Someone else asked the same thing ... Wish I could find that post!! It wasn't me.

(Found it .. LINK Wasn't me!)

I live in Baltimore. Not looking forward to this, but thankfully can walk to all the bars and restaurants. It's supposed to start around 2, office is closing at noon.
