Why do humans have to "save" every fricking thing?

The same people who will scream about man-made global warming will also tell us we should incentivize over population via immigration from countries who cannot support their population now to countries like the US or via subsidizing people who shouldn't have kids.

Many scientists have called the explosive growth of the global human population a threat to the global ecosystem. They certainly do not want to "incentivize" overpopulation.

I'd encourage you to slow your neocon roll and think through things objectively.

The reason why we see so many explanations as to why the GBR is dying is that there are literally thousands of scientists studying it's death. Each scientist values a certain research variable higher than the other variables. This explains why there is a great debate over the "true cause" of death.

The answer is most likely a gumbo of multiple reasons why the reef is dying from changes in temperature, to salinity, to pollution.

Global warming is real, you idiots. There's evidence right in your face and you're still in denial. Unbelievable.

The primary threat to coral is Crown of Thorns starfish. The starfish population has exploded in Australia due to fertilizer runoff. The bleaching is the product of the living organisms being eaten, then the salt bleaches the coral in the absence of the organic oils.
Fake news is fake.

1) Intrinsic Value
2) Collapse of local fisheries
3) Fixing a problem that people may have caused

Coral reefs are quite sensitive. One thing I haven't seen reported is the water quality data. Pollution from runoff nearby can just as easily cause these die offs.

No, we should send all of our trash to that giant incinerator in the sky.

Because I don't want to subsidize population growth, I am a Neo-Con? I hope you are not a scientist.

The vast majority of people screaming about global warming are bleeding heart liberals who want to subsidize population growth via immigration or food stamps or other welfare.

Good.

Once it is gone we won't have to listen to enviros cry about it anymore.

Maybe then we can set up some drilling platforms there and make money.

The bleaching is the death of the zooxanthellae...the dinoflagellate protists living in the membrane of the polyps.

We can save the reefs IF we act now!

Everyone needs to donate as much money as possible to regressive left politicians. They know what's best for us and the reefs. We should all pay higher taxes too. Quick, donate now.

I love all the exaggerated responses. You guys are like the anti-vaxxers. Despite all evidence to the contrary, you continue to deny something is true, and then make claims about what it means or what we're supposed to do that have no basis in logic.

You would be surprised to learn that you may be wrong.

There are many species of fish, such as bluefin tuna, that traverse the Pacific.
