If they used local accents most people wouldn’t be able to understand what’s going on in the movie.

That would probably be a blessing considering Nic Cage's choices in movies since he's trying to pay back taxes to the IRS

Sort of.

Ppl on the Island are easier to understand than those in Golden Meadow and Galliano.

If the opening scene isn’t them getting pulled over in Golden Meadow for going 51mph in a 50mph zone the movie is trash.

No John Goodman cameo?

No Mardi Gras float? even floating by in a storm?

Are their sweat stains anatomically correct?

To be fair, if the accents sounded like people from Grand Isle 99% of the English speaking world wouldn’t understand a damn thing that was said. No way in hell would I watch a movie without subtitles of 14 Coach O’s having a conversation.

Seriously- how did Cage ever manage to snare an Oscar??

Did Uncle Francis pull some strings?

I love when people try to bash other people and do something like this

The Island was my get away during HS.

Friends have camps there, we go several times a year.

Those accents.. not of the Island.

Do Hollywood producers spend any time at all researching Louisiana accents before making movies that are supposed to be set here? They always frick up our accents terribly.
