What is the average time between traffic light cycles? Lets say 4 mins.. Thats 15 cycles an hour, lets say they pick up $5 a cycle, at the least.. Thats $75 an hr.. not taxed. If they "work" 4 hrs a day, 7 days a week thats $2100 a week. If they did this shite every day all year those lazy fricks can bring in six figures.

I just keep thinking about driving around Houston, which is full of panhandlers. I've never given them money, and I honestly can't remember more than 2-3 times anyone in my group at the light giving them money.
I guess there might be the copycat effect in some instances where they make up for a few zero groups with a big one.

Unless there was a large bill exchange that wasn't obvious, I have never seen more than a dollar or maybe even just some change at any point in my time driving around Houston. $5 seems closer to a best case scenario per light cycle.

Think a lot depends on the area too. Orlando likely has a ton of tourists especially on the main roads leading to the parks/downtown. In west palm where I live, I get a lot of the same experiences as you've seen. That news clip actually makes me watch them a lot more. Younger women ALWAYS seem to get more especially with a sign regarding their "kids"

I recently rode through Baton Rouge with a business acquaintance and he gave people money at two or three stop lights. I was amazed. So I definitely believe they can turn an average of $5 or more per cycle. You multiply that out and consider that it is tax free and I am doubting my professional choices.

They used to have this fat black lady that would bring her kids to Elysian Fields to beg for money. I threw my cigarette in there two days in a row, and they just stopped asking.
Another funny thing that happened on Claiborne the other day was this beggar asking me for a cig. I told him no, and he offered to buy it for a quarter. Told him no again, and he offered a dollar. I obliged, and spent one of yalls dumb arse dollars on a Nestlé Crunch bar 10 minutes later

I've seen groups of kids at the same intersection. They've always had identification and always had something on their buckets indicating what it was used for

They need a permit either way, which they did not have a couple months ago. They also can not have kids running in and out of traffic.

I hate bucket kids. Well, actually I hate the parent who sits in the chair in the middle of Earhart playing on her cell phone while her kids wander in and out of 5pm traffic.
Social services ought to arrest the mom and take the kids away.
I love how they are all wearing the same color shirt to make it appear they are on some sort of team. Money probably goes into mom's pocket.

How sad have the times have changed. My son is going on 17 and I have never seen his school or any school fundraiser for that matter send kids out in traffic with buckets collecting money.

I hate what they're doing, but I'm not sure if "lazy" is the best way to describe it. I've known people who appear to be committing fraud with disability and other government services who are truly lazy. Getting out and hustling money in this way is despicable, but it isn't lazy.
