You seriously haven’t figured out that grades are done for the year? All of the work your kids have been sent home with means nothing. Doesn’t matter if they did it all, or did none of it. They passed the grade for the year.
Downvoted away but it won’t change that I’m right. Not a single piece of work that was sent home for your kids will be graded.

Maybe some schools but not all schools. Districts have been given discretion.

quote:Tried to tell my wife this, as she's stressing the frick out with the kids and their homework. We have taken it serious and make sure they get what they're doing right, but for the most part the rest of the year for school is a wash. All the school kids are gonna be a tad bit off schedule next year.

Book mark me. Not a single kid that was passing at the time of school closures will be held back.

I can only speak for my district, but you’re right. No assignments will be graded. Everything that we put up is optional, and students and parents were told this up front.

The work gets graded, but it's not like they're getting tested for it. It's just whether or not they did it. More like a pass/fail type thing.

Had he threatened to cancel LSU football yet?

There's no logical reason to remain closed through the summer.

Wife is a teacher. LA has waived the hour requirement for schools this year. This means that if a parent asks to not have this last quarter included in their transcripts it can be done with no penalties. So yeah, school is done this year

My daughter's tests and quizzes she's taking at home are still being graded...

There is no logical reason to close a lot of the things currently closed

School was done in Louisiana when the state superintendent and other superintendents penned a letter to JBE asking him to cancel it.

Gov. John Bel Edwards said Thursday there is a "really good chance" he will order public schools to remain closed for the rest of the academic year because of risks posed by the coronavirus.
Edwards made the all but definitive comment following requests to keep classrooms closed from superintendents on Wednesday and leaders of the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and others earlier Thursday.

Well yeah. I’ve given up on the current fiasco.

They’re “graded” in that the teacher is showing what they got wrong so they can work on fixing it.
It isn’t graded in that if she simply didn’t do it she’s going to fail her class and get held back.
