Last time I sold an expensive personal item, I made up a contract/bill of sale. I put on it the condition it was in, any defects, and the price. He and I both signed it so it would be clear we both knew and understood what he was buying. That way he can never come back on me and say I didn't tell him this or that. Nor will I be able to fleece him.

NEVER buy something that expensive without a bill of sale. You can make one up yourself and it will be legally binding (though check state laws for specifics as each state might have slightly different requirements). These days you can print out Bill of Sale templates from the Internet, so it's very easy to do.

In most states you HAVE to make a bill of sale for cars/boats and things of that nature. It is required by law.

If it was only 100 to fix, anyone that bought a $3K mower would've fixed it.

BS, lots of stupid people dont even want to learn how to fix their own mowers.

head gaskets cost $10 each, there is most likely two since i assume its a 2 cylinder engine.

head gasket goes it smokes its arse off and most people assume its not worth fixing. sometimes it loses compression and wont start but they dont know why.

i used to make $16k-$20k profit every summer from april through sept buying broken mowers to fix and resell them. most common problems were they just needed a $16 carburetor to fix them or a $10 head gasket. then i put new belts and blades and oil change before reselling them.

almost every one i bought, the idiot owner could have fixed themselves for less than $50 by watching youtube video and spending a few hours of their time to find out the problem

Should've cleaned it and attempted to start it before buying. That isn't hard. And you would've known it was shot before handing over the money.

taking the carb off, especially on a 2 cylinder engine, is not a 5 minute job, lots of shite including the top cover of the engine has to come off.

but without taking anything apart, a squirt of starter fluid in the air filter opening will make the engine start even if the carb isnt even there. one squirt confirms the engine is fine and will run.

his so called lawnmower expert that went check it out sounds like a complete idiot that knows nothing about lawnmowers. he was probably an auto mechanic if i had to guess

You played yourself AND that guy is a cocksucker. Two things can be true at once.

There are multiple more things:

Some cocksucker in Opelousas had his house burned down while he was out cocksuckering around.

LA homeowners has gone up exponentially so the cocksucker had let his policy lapse.

The neighbors cheered.

yes he did, by telling you he knows about lawnmowers. anybody that knows anything about lawnmowers knows to bring starter fluid to start a non-running engine before ever buying the mower.

he screwed you over by lying about knowing anything about lawnmowers

If you are in the market for a new one, go here and look around. People drive from all over the south east to here getting one hell of a deal. This guy does bundle deals at good prices. It's one hell of a store. They have everything.

You bought a mower, sight unseen, that you knew didn’t run, and who your own person said was ok, and you are mad at the seller??

You just paid an 800 dollar stupid tax.

Fogging oil. Not starter fluid. Better for the engine.

Just found a snapper push mower on the side of the road that all the parts fit the one I have kept that the drive train broke. I am fixing that mower with free parts. lucky me.

People suck these days and have no self pride. Now, getting over someone is a bigger badge of honor than being nice and honest. Andy Taylor would be pissed
