I remember when I was growing up we would use Jim Wades foot medicine, you can't even buy it anymore, would burn like hell but would kill them

When I went to Boy Scout summer camp in Florida in the 70's, I took sulfur tablets (with cream of tartar to make it edible) several days in advance and while I was there for a week. I maybe had one or two get me. The year before when I didn't use them, my crotch and underarms were lit up with them.
You used to could get them at a pharmacy, but had to order them online the last time . It also helps to repel mosquitos.

clear nail polish over the site?
I don't know much about nail polish because I am a manly kind of man, but why does it have to be clear?
Is the chemical make-up different with a color?
The sufferer from what we call chiggers* may like a colorful flair to his treatment.
*Cheegro may be substituted.

I've had really good results with 70% isopropyl alcohol rubs every couple of hours. Just douse the area and rub in with a course wet cloth to aggravate it all a little so the alcohol can do it's thing. Finish with a 10% hydrocortisone cream in between.

Had them from my ankles to my waist about a month ago. Anti itch ointment was the only relief. Was miserable for a solid week.

Got them so bad as a kid once that my scrotum ended up with so much clear nail polish on it that it looked like a busted disco ball.

Scratch until raw. Apply nail polish remover. Feels great.

To ensure that they're all removed would mean you have to cover entire body with crisco- who wants to do that? Which is why the clorox bath is hard to beat
The Crisco makes the itching go away almost instantly and keeps you from having nasty scratch marks. Its by far the best way.
Only have to keep the crisco on about 15-20 minutes.

All I know is in the field we always used Chigg Away and someone would always find a way to scratch out the Cs and replace them with another consonant.

When we were little and got them on our cockandballs it was hilarious how huge they swelled. I remember cracking up about that.

My dad worked as a lineman for the power company and always got into red bugs. He used rubbing alchohol with glycerin (green bottle) and then would use mop and glow floor wax applied with a q tip. Immediately stopped the itching.
