I’m a girl, but I do hope you can undo and not repeat this. Your Dad is young, but we never know. Mine wasn’t a fighter and never said mean things. All he had to do was look at me and I knew the deal. He was salt of the Earth and always right, seriously. He really was. I was lucky.

My dad was beating my step brother with a belt so I put him in a choke hold. He kicked us both out and I cried my eyes out because I had to put my hands on my dad. Worse feeling in the world.

There were some things that my dad/parents did that really hurt me to the core. Some got resolved, some didn't. I wrote a letter to my dad and read it to him and our relationship changed. It was worth it. There were some very painful parts but I had to do it, or I would lose him without ever reconciling.
