Why would the government intervene? It gets a symbiotic relationship with the tech companies. Surveillance beyond the wildest dreams of any totalitarian decades ago.

re: Google's ability to track you
The issue is that it is his device that he fairly paid for. The company has been compensated for providing the device through the transaction. If Google had given him the device for free and subsidized the cost by monetizing data, there would not be a problem. Imagine buying your house, but the former owner could still rent it out to whoever, whenever?

I'm all for small government, but the extent that Big Tech is able to monetize your data is scary. You should have a say about which of your data is monetized, and you should receive royalties for it. Your data is your personal property.

The tracking is so advanced, if you're walking with a group, they can where you're walking within that group The person in the front is usually the leader of the group, and they target that person with specific ads to try and influence the group... how about Whataburger for lunch guys... Footlocker has a sale on Nike... Academy has LSU gear on sale... etc Then there's geofencing that more brick and mortar companies are getting into... If you use a Taco Bell app for ordering, and happed to drive by one, you may receive a push notification as a reminder, in hopes to drive sales... Walgreens does the same thing shite is out of control
I'm bothered by none of this BS on my flip phone.

This is the kind of stuff they need to discuss at Porn and Pancakes. Google has a file of what you masturbate to that will likely be made public one day, Ashley Madison style.

I feel like this could be the plot of a good movie. China hacks Google, Apple, Amazon and threatens to end America by blackmailing people with their porn history and private recordings.

The phone I have now will be my last smart phone. After it goes out, I'm just going to get a flip phone.

Why I've thought about going back to my old Blackberry's. They had removable batteries. Only way to stop such tracking and believe it or not, BB didn't engage in that sort of thing as much as the others do.

But no one wanted security so blame yourselves.

Just watch “Terms and Conditions” I can’t remember if it’s still on Netflix or not, but it’s on Amazon for rental or purchase.

That fricking document will hit you like a ton of bricks. What these companies are doing is an affront to our liberties. And don’t act like these companies aren’t selling everything to our ubiquitous benevolent overlords in the government.

I’d rather have never had an iPhone, laptop, computer, etc. than have these companies looking over my shoulder literally nonstop.

Actually this would be the exact scenario where the go t should intervene.

As Roger said we are paying for the devices, sometimes into the four figures and companies are continuing to profit off of us.

It’s like a mechanic fixing your car but messing something else up to make You come back.

I get the whole “don’t buy it then” argument but at this point in the game cell phones have become a staple and have replaced not just phones but gps, heart rate/workout monitoring and a myriad of other things. Hell you don’t even need a computer anymore if you have a smart phone.

It is called hiding in plain site. You sometimes have to run errands for people buy random shite leave your phone at home and then take it to the person.

Basically you need to create multiple personalities. Wear hats so cameras can't see you. Hop on a bus and pay with cash.

Y'all be dumb. Watch Jason Bourne movies.
