Where is the Grand Isle camera set up?
You can think about SPACs as a publicly-traded private equity fund looking to acquire a single company. The only asset a SPAC has on their balance sheet is the cash it raises in the IPO. Standard practice for a SPAC is to offer units to investors at $10/share at listing, and this cash is deposited into a trust until effecting a transaction. Without the ability to generate any cash flow, you'd expect a SPAC to trade at NAV, which is why they typically trade at $10.

SPAC-mania caused many high-profile SPACs to dislodge from NAV as more investors wanted access to the SPAC than existing investors wanted to sell. If you believed the SPAC management team had a unique path to acquiring a big winner, perhaps the premium could be warranted.
Have you thought about a refi cash-out instead of selling? Take advantage of the low rates and pull out some equity for a down payment

BlockFi is backed by the likes of Susquehanna, Bain Cap, Tiger Global, and SoFi. In my mind they're the most reputable firm with the least left-tail risk, but the rates are compressed a bit compared to the others. Celsius / Voyager juice their returns by issuing their own tokens. Not a sustainable model in the long run but hey, get it while the getting's good
The rapid price appreciation may slow, but I don't believe a correction is likely. The fundamentals are strong. We can speculate on rate hikes, but how much will a 25 - 100 bps increase in rates in 2023 really affect housing prices benchmarked to today (especially if inflation continues at 5%+ until then)? The shortage of housing inventory is real, and even if raw material costs continue to decline the U.S. will need to build ~30% more houses annually than the long term average to close the gap in a decade (unlikely, especially with an increasingly stringent permitting process). Additionally, the 10 most populous ages in the U.S. according to the 2020 census are 25-35, prime home buying age.
The issue is that it is his device that he fairly paid for. The company has been compensated for providing the device through the transaction. If Google had given him the device for free and subsidized the cost by monetizing data, there would not be a problem. Imagine buying your house, but the former owner could still rent it out to whoever, whenever?

I'm all for small government, but the extent that Big Tech is able to monetize your data is scary. You should have a say about which of your data is monetized, and you should receive royalties for it. Your data is your personal property.

Kind of surprised all these OT ballers dont understand TVM
Um.. Have you heard of Marvel?

Google's ability to track you

Posted by Rosyfinchboy21 on 2/13/20 at 3:58 pm
It's crazy what these tech companies are able to track. Per the WSJ:

quote:

WASHINGTON—Kenneth Glueck took a road trip to Durham, N.C., a few years ago hoping to prove Google was peering far deeper into the personal lives of consumers than they realized.

He purchased a new mobile phone with Google’s Android operating system, put it in airplane mode, disabled the WiFi and stuck it in the glove compartment of his pickup truck.

During the weekend trip, his phone tracked not just his route and destination, but reams of valuable data, such as barometric pressure that could determine what floor of a shopping mall he was on. When he connected to the internet three days later, the phone sent a catalog of its travels back to Google. He shared his results with federal lawmakers who were drafting privacy legislation, now pending, that could restrict tech giants’ ability to use such consumer information to sell advertising.
