Why? If you use a private company like Google masquerading as a platform you're going to toe the liberal line or deal with shite like this.

This should be considered a campaign contribution from Google.

This is something straight out of 1984. Leftists today are the biggest threat to free speech in this country's history.

The craziest part is that the side that always complains about giant corporations has those giant corporations enact their will

This isn't Democrat/Republican. This is cultural fascism at play.
It is still broken down by Democrats/Republicans.

Every supporter of this is either a staunch supporter of the Democrats or heavily anti-Republican/conservative.

It is cultural fascism being perpetrated by the left and only the left.

Google isn’t a platform.

Situations like this proves that they are publishers, ISO.

They are purposefully moving to have only certain viewpoints published.

Which should make publishers like them, reddit, or twitter liable for the insane content that they do allow and apparently curate - including discussion of riots and tactics to swarm police stations during the 2020 insanity.

I don't know what these companies do to combat this. And I don't know what the average consumer can do either, outside of buying an iPhone (which comes with its own set of problems outside of Android).

But one small change that I have done is change all of my homepage browsers to duckduckgo. I know it isn't doing much, but dammit, Google isn't gonna profit off my web searches. I also have Yahoo emails and don't use chrome. I'm sure Google has their creepy, greedy hands in everything I do since I'm on Android, but it still gives me a little peace of mind that I'm giving them the finger the best way I know how at the moment.

is that why NBC bragged about getting 2 "far-right websites" shut down?

I can testify for them. I watched local LA coverage of the peaceful protests. The news choppers flew over the actual protests all night while stores were be broken into, looted, and burned just a few blocks over. They did that for 2 consecutive nights.

Easy. These companies can file suit against google and NBC. They have plenty of evidence to back up their claims. It would cost money, but they will lose money either way.

Are we going to see the pendulum start swinging back soon?

This outraged people (rightfully so).

And Gundy is getting dragged for apologizing (also rightfully so). Zero tolerance for those who kneel to the mob (and throw everyone else under the bus)?

NBC News

I think most of us can probably concur that ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Fox News are all dying slowly.

Who really gives a damn what NBC wants?

Their content selection is one thing, but it's not even the worst thing. Google is the gatekeeper to e-commerce. They are the digital mafia at this point. Ask a business owner how easy it is to operate without paying up.

To give them the power to discriminate like this is incredibly dangerous.
