Looks like he was aiming something at the pedestrian prior to the pedestrian shooting him.

gas pumpers situational awareness
0 dark hundred gas station visits off of Ponce near VaHi in ATL were instructive. Don't stand near the line coming out of the pump. It cuts visibility, the gas line restricts your movement.

I would still cheer the CC holder's situational awareness, readiness, and ability to draw and fire.
Agree completely…he was well prepared.
ETA: Far too many of us just stand between the pump and vehicle hold the nozzle

Looks good. Guy knew his surroundings. Knew to be on alert. Started to prepare on the approach.
Drew and fired with hesitation. Didn't approach after the pull, didn't pursue or continue to fire after suspect fled.
Done quite right.
Only thing I could add is that he had the fuel line from the pump in his way, if he'd have wanted/needed to move behind his car for cover.

Can we just start popping caps at people who wear hoodies?
A hoodie in the middle of the hot summer is certainly sus

Yes.
Having his hands in the hoodie pockets the whole time is too.
Here in the hood we expect a small pistol to be in those pockets.

Should've gone this route...

I guess the perp proved you can run with your pants down below your butt.

Yeah that guy just standing there is not suspicious at all.
Profiling works.

No one can afford to do that with these gas prices

They always hang out, lurking at gas stations. Always be profiling.

He's gonna get charged in Illinois. You just wait.

Nice draw. Being able to "hide" your draw like this almost makes me reconsider appendix. Wish I could get 5'oclock carry to conceal well.
