Just about all the people I know now with kids in college are sending them to Oklahoma And smaller colleges are across South Carolina, Georgia,Tennessee. A lot of it generated by just the safety as much as culture and cost

B-b-b-but that one dude was unnecessarily locked up too long because he couldn't afford to get out of jail on marijuana possession charge.

Yeah the crime was there first. That owner chose a bad location.

That’s not a bad area lol..
Biggest issue is that dumb arse train that seems to block the Main Street during the worse times. As far as car break in’s, don’t be naive and leave items in the car that thieves can see. Seems like the Houston area is always opening up a new golf sim spot. There’s one opening on Shepherd and another one on N Shepherd.

He’s still a democrat, and hasn’t implemented any policies, nor reversed any, that would make a difference.

When you have Dore the Explorer gunning for you, you know you're doing something right. Whitmire is a very good Mayor IMO.

maybe Chicken should consider opening a basketball-themed sports bar in that location.

Or a TD Sports Bar where everyone goes and doesn't talk but just drinks and posts on TD.

That area is everything that is bad about Houston Want to get happy hour at that golf place next to the apartment complex, logistics company, and railroad?

The real oddity of that area is why the hell is Matheson tri-gas still there

That area has drastically improved, despite the other side of 45 still being shitty

The Director of Zoning for Houston, Cal Ripken's backup, and Lena Dunhan's personal trainer walked into a bar...

I’m sure there were break ins. I doubt it was a primary driver for the place closing. I can rattle off the businesses right by there that were open before it and are still there

East river 9 is a much better non-real golf experience ~5-15 minutes away.

The real problem with loft 18 is the location blows for people that aren’t in the heights and it was overpriced with shitty food. Really limits your market to trashy people who just want to eat crappy chicken tenders

I am curious to how that Intown Golf Club is going to do. Outside of corporate expense covering the cost, I can’t see people dropping $8500 dp + $360 a month dues to hit a golf simulator

War on Poverty and handouts that allow people to acclimate to a subsitance status in life. Every judge and law that goes soft on crime.

That's never been a problem at numerous chain restaurants.

ETA: Genuinely asking. Not sure why this would be hard to explain with so much conviction.

I don't think it's a specific policy as much as specific actions - consistently interpreting policy favorably to criminals, failure to enforce policy already on the books etc. I would bet $ 3.50 that most of these crimes are being done by repeat offenders.

Chain restaurants (I wouldn't call it that) close all the time due to bad service and bland food.

A friend bought a very expensive town house not that far from there in hopes that crime wouldn't be a problem. I wonder what's happened since then?
