Are they removing the college degree requirements from their upper management job postings then?
This. All of their job postings. That's the problem with this statement. Until businesses stop relying on college to be the first layer of job application hiring, a college degree is basically required.
But not only that, are they removing their, most likely, prestigious college requirement to even sniff that upper tier? I doubt a Southern grad ever has a shot at Executive Leadership at GS.

I'm not struggling by any means, but I also don't own a home or have kids yet. Modest homes (~1500 sq ft) in a good part of the city are 400k+. Not to mention private school for kids.
ETA: I'm also far from "shitty" with money, I have a graduate degree and my wife will graduate with a doctorate in about a year with no student loan debt.

So how is $100K not enough? No offense but saying $100k isn't enough when you don't even have kids just wreaks of bad financial habits.

True, but that's pretty niche within Goldman. That's, what, probably less than 5% of their work force? 2%?

To be fair a good friend is an executive at GS. Graduated from SUNY Albany, then Fordham MBA once he was already at GS.
It isn't all Ivy League grads.
