No argument.

$75 ticket plus $75 fees plus parking plus inflated concessions, for music that’s too loud and to sit behind people that choose to stand all night. Then get jammed in traffic just to leave. frick that.

Yeah listening to good live music, having a couple drinks with good people and good looking women around is just so so terrible.

I don't give a frick how expensive it is. Everything is expensive. A good concert is such a vibe.

Crowds of trashy people, outrageously expensive tickets, overpriced parking and concessions, waiting hours for the concert to start, music that’s so loud you can’t understand the words, you don’t know 2/3 of the songs played,… and as an extra bonus your ears ring for 24 hours the day after. I mean, what’s not to like?

I have been going to concerts since the 80's, and yes, I still go at my age. I am more selective now though after attending well over a hundred shows.
Love going to Tips back in the early 90's and seeing great acts as they were coming up, but now I dread going into New Orleans for a show and I have tickets to the Seanger in a couple of weeks to see Sierra Ferrell as well as a blues guitarist at Ground Zero in Biloxi about a month later.
I love music, especially live, however I am not sure how many shows I have left in me as I was disappointed in a act I saw last week in Gulfport even though the venue was gorgeous.
Billy is without a doubt the best in the biz currently and Tool put on a fantastic production.

I don’t go to concerts often, but after experiencing Red Rocks last October, I want to go again. It was incredible. The venue, the atmosphere, the fresh air, the mountains, and the music. It was phenomenal.

Going to large concerts without comfortable seating near the stage is overrated.

A buddy of mine went to see Jimmy Buffett (I think it was him) perform at The South Pole, in front of a few dozen. That isn’t overrated.

All you musicians and music snobs are such drama queens.

But I do agree that concerts are not like they used to be in the 70-80s. Big big names would play a ton of cities (like BR) that had smaller venues and reasonable prices. They made their money off of album sales. But now the money is in tickets and not albums (like Swift).

I’ll take Mingo all day. TackySweater is a try hard scrote.

It’s local Thursday at Jazzfest. One of the best days of the year. Y’all relax.

Nah…we love music. We especially love live music. I’ve seen several thousand bands. My wife has seen several hundred. I’ve seen everyone from the Sex Pistols, BB King, The Cure, James Brown, Hall and Oates, the Cult, Bad Brains and everything in between. Many of them I’ve seen a lot of times. I’ve seen super obscure bands such as the Bears. I have witnessed my share of shitty shows, too. The Smashing Pumpkins suck live. Heart rocks live. John Cougar sucks live. Duran Duran is spectacular live as is Muse. Depeche Mode is always great. At one point in my life I was seeing several shows a week and hundreds per year. Most were free entry for me. There’s nothing better than music and nothing better than a great live show. And yes, ticket prices have gotten pretty steep. Just paid over $900 for two NIN tickets. However, bands such as the Reverend Horton Heat can still be seen for less than $30. Both are great live.

I’ll take live music over live sports every day (love both though.) We’ll have music on at our house instead of crappy all day news stations but that’s our preference and how we approach life. Choose your own path.

ETA…another band that is really really good live is the FIXX. They’re still rocking the scene. If you get the chance to catch them touring, go see them. Inexpensive fantastic show. DO NOT go see Men at Work….horrible live show.
