I have so many pictures on my computer (not in the cloud) that are unlabeled -- we're talking thousands and thousands.

I'm so grateful I have them. I could easily spend months and months trying to sort through them.

The memories. Every picture tells a story. And then I see one of my dad and mom both holding my daughters. My dad died at the end of 2024, and my mom died in 2025. Really puts things in perspective. Time does not stop. But pictures and memories do last.

I was doing fine, but now I have a lump in my throat, tears in my eye. And for that, I am thankful. Grief is the price we all pay for love.

Be glad that you have all those pics. It's a good problem to have

I agree. It's amazing how you can be fine ... fine ... fine ... everything's fine ... and a few pictures that take you back ... and realize what life used to be like.

Marriage, birth of our children, pictures of my mom's 60th birthday, my daughters with our friends in San Antonio, etc. -- had to jump off the emotional rollercoaster tonight. Too much stuff to do and not trying to suppress those emotions and feelings -- but good to know they are still there!

Life comes at you fast and looking at old pictures can be a nice little form of time travel back to the "good ol' days".

Be very glad you have them. I'm nearing 40 and my mom split on my dad a couple years ago. She took all the photo albums with her and I have maybe 20 pictures from my entire childhood. My kids ask all the time and I have nothing for them. It sucks

Here’s the oldest image not of a family member in my iPhone.

It’s from going to out to eat in Orange Beach before a Steely Dan concert at The Wharf. I’m with one of my kids who pointed out the bozo at the bar was wearing a Point Restaurant T-shirt on backwards. (That fish logo is supposed to be worn on the front)

That was a good night.

It’s like using the wrong utensil at dinner.

A tea spoon to eat soup?

EGAD!

Upload them all to Google photos and after a while, you can search them really easily. You can search by people’s faces, pets, locations, damn near anything.

My mom has something like 36,000 photos from over the years and sends me quite a few every day. Especially the ones I’m in.

I hope she never stops.

Label ‘em. Make copies. Save ‘em in different places. Print them off and put ‘em in an album. One of my best childhood memories with my grandparents was looking thru photo albums. Old cars they had, relatives I never met, houses I never saw. It was so amazing.
