Update: Not hunted, but injured animals (accidentally run over by the wagon) euthanized by a gun or hammer because there’s no vet at the location.

Anyone see the preview for this in the past week on WDSU? I think it airs tonight. Rumor is that there’s so many animals that some animals were hunted or killed to avoid overpopulation.

I went hunting at the Global Wildlife Center once. I'm not allowed back.

It wouldn’t surprise me. I went there a few years back and the amount of little antelope/deer they had out there was insane.

You would hope that an animal preservation wouldn’t do that though

And how do you combat the limiting factors like space and food?

Additionally, it's illegal to release captive cervids and non-native animals into the wild

I know there have been some deer killed there and those guys were busted. This was probably four or five years ago though. I’m sure it has happened a bunch of times. As far as purposely being killed with the blessing of Global Wildlife to avoid overpopulation, I don’t know.

I shot a giraffe at the Global Wildlife Center once. Let’s just say they weren’t too happy about it

Damn shame. That's what I would suggest do. Would be cool to see those things running wild in LA and MS.

If they don’t they are retarded. That’s exactly how you preserve animals

There’re tons of loons outraged about anything and everything. Anything that drives the clicks and comments is now “news”.

Well you are probably correct. I didn't really think of it like that.

I shot a giraffe in my pajamas.

How she ever fit into them, I'll never know.

Ya, I found it. I was thinking of something different. A few years back a couple 20 yr olds or something shot a big arse deer out there and just took the head. They got caught, but I cant remember where they shot it.

Maybe some will get loose and establish an "exotics" population to hunt wild, like in Texas.

Wait- what am I saying?? This is LA. That shite would be in someone's freezer so fast it would make your head spin.
