Might need to clear that up some gumbo. Today's black folk don't choose their circumstances. I didn't choose mine and i've gotten pulled over because I drive a nice car before. Do some african americans place themselves in certain situations that may cause certain things to happen to them, hell yeah. But i promise you that's not the case for all

You know what? You’re right. That was a poor choice of words on my part and I am sorry for that. I’ve edited it a bit.

I simply meant that back then blacks weren’t allowed (for the most part) to go to college, have access to resources, etc like they do today. Anyone, regardless of race or background, who chooses to not better themselves today have many things to blame but the difference between then and now is that now they can share some of the blame whereas back then they couldn’t.

That's because Gladys Knight knows how to get shite done without being a fricking idiot. People think that when someone like Kaepernick decides he is going to be the "voice of black people" that he is supported by every black person. Old school people don't like that shite.

In today's world, everything is "if you don't agree with me I am going to take my ball and go home until you do". All that does is piss people off and you don't get shite done by burning bridges.

I don’t even know where to start with this shite.

He ruined any chance at salvaging a career in the nfl by pushing his narrative, which is fine, it’s his choice and his career. Now he’s telling people to not take a huge step in advancing their careers because they need to represent his constantly changing narrative.

She’s faced more adversity in a single week back in the day than privileged arse Kaepernick has his entire life.

It's gotten so bad for this generation that they have to make social injustices like poop swastikas to feign their social justice anger. It takes real creativity to be a SJW these days. Back in the day they had it easy, they didn't have to make anything up at all. It's hard work being a SJW today.

As another poster mentioned, old school black folks don't agree with the new age pricks who don't know what being treated bad is all about. I can go back far enough to remember black people really getting screwed over.

Most folks my age grew up in a small town where whites and blacks worked at a mill or other such place and were pretty much paid the same: nothing.

I asked my dad one day why we never saw racial problems in our town. He said blacks wanted the same thing as whites: to be left alone, have a job they could feed their family with, drink a shot of hooch on Saturday night and go to church on Sunday. No more, no less.

He said and I realized that if you didn't work, you did without. Today, if you don't work, you get rewarded by some giveaway program.

How many of those super stars really, really give back to their communities? Most of them are takers, not givers. How many of those showing their arse and hollering of injustice got help from whites along the way, i. e. Kapernick who was 1/2 white and raised by white people?

If any of these young whipper snappers today could go back and live the 40s and 50s and see the difference, they'd shut the frick up.

Gladys grew up in a time where she had to walk in the back of a club where she was performing. She was a famous singer yet still had to fight for her rights.

Gladys knows what real injustice feels like. Kaep doesnt.
