Since craigslist is a terrible idea. Bring the dog to one of these places. Though considering you seem to want to do nothing to find this dog a good home, I doubt you'll check the links.
List of Houston no kill shelters
Here's a 23 page list of Houston resources.

Find something close to your house if you have to. Just don't give it away on craigslist

Thread is a bummer.
It's not even about the animals life anymore, more about shite talking.

There's this great place a mile away called a dog park where he can swim and run for days. He goes every week. In his superman towel. So no, he's doing just fine tyvm :)

Worst this site has to offer on display. Maybe they're all hungover.

have you posted a picture in this shitshow of a thread?
let me see if I can help you
I ain't posting shite in this thread. Another poster put up a pic of a black nosed cur. That's pretty much it. Though mine will be smaller. Bet says she should top out at 30-35. The site I read on black nose puts them in the 60's. Mines obviously a mix but definitely has the same look.

Check out that site I posted (blackmouthcur.rescueme.org). I can't remember for sure, but I think they're fine with BMC mixes. A few days after we posted ours, he was adopted.

I did. Tentatively. The way this thread was going I assumed you had set up an iPhone hacking virus and purchased a domain name all to sabotage me.
Seems legit. As was yours or someone else's list given. We will be checking these out. She gets spayed and vaccinated 5/31. This was all part of her adoption. Plan is to have all that done to make her more adoptable. And more available to all shelters and programs.

Great idea, but that wouldn't help your pup.

You have a chance to teach your son that it is important and rewarding for a man to stick with something rather than taking the easy way out.

Nope. She's just not a fit for this house of family. Happens all the time. Or dog rescues would not exist.
I understand....
I had a lab one time that just had no retrieving instinct at all...honestly, the dog was dumber than a box of rocks.
I wanted a duck dog, so I found her a good home that wanted a pet and we all lived happily ever after.
I don't think there is any shame in getting rid of a pet that is not what you are looking for.

suit yourself
anyone thinking of taking the dog will want to see a picture
by the by, this thread went exactly as your title would suggest i.e.: "giving up on a dog". All you had to do was offer her up to a good home and say circumstances at your house make it impossible to keep her, and leave it at that. As to what info you were hoping to find, all that you seek is available all over the internet
your first stop should be a rescue org for that particular breed which it appears you've now found
good luck

Bump. We've screwed this royally. The one we want to get rid of WILL BE the best of the 3.
It is a recipe for keeping 3 dogs.
Dog 1: 8 year old chihuahua. My dog! If she could live in my arse she would. But she is your stereotypical bitchy spoiled chihuahua.
Dog 2: 5 month old Black Mouth Cur and MAYBE shepherd mix. She looks like a smaller Ole Yeller. How can you get rid of a dog that embodies a beloved literary pooch? fricker is smart and sweet as hell. If we get rid of her we are losing the best of the pack.
Dog 3: 11 week old Toy Rat Terrier. Perfect little lap dog. My son loves this dog. My wife got this dog while I was at work. But she got it because my son does not like the Black Mouth (racist). Too big.
We are now fricked. We can't bring ourselves to "give up" on any of these dogs.
The Cur is smart but needs a "job". Any suggestions? She's so damned smart, she knows what the dog run is. She wants no part of it. Frequent walks are helping. Crate training is near complete. Only accidents are if WE are dumbasses and speak in an excited voice when we come home. She puddles.
We suck. I know. Let more down votes rain.

Let all the dogs live, shoot yourself.

Finally realize it takes a POS to toss off a dog at a shelter when you have the means to care for it, eh?
All bulllshit aside. Props on seemingly deciding to keep it. Instant karma

never ever ever take a home away from a dog
there are too many who don't have one
you'll figure it out
