Why won't you take the dog to basic obedience training?
It's a puppy....they typically are little assholes if they are not properly trained/socialized.
This thread makes me want to hug my dogs and tell them I would never throw them away.

The dog deserves better.

What about the millions of dogs sitting at shelters right now that you could adopt and love? Do you bear no responsibility for them simply because you don't drive down there and pick one up?
What a load of bullshite

Yes it is.

Now is the time to teach him how puppies are a pussy magnet.

She is still a puppy so she is very adoptable. The problem is the son I bought her for wants nothing to do with her. This is a 12-14 year old boys dog. The dog needs someone who will play just as rough and tumble as she does. My six year old is not that dog.
So which is it?

He's part of today's "throw away" society.
I tried helping him in his original thread several weeks ago. He had more excuses than he had reasons.
This dog will hopefully be better of by no longer being with an irresponsible dog owner.

Lulz, just shut the frick up, dogs are companions to those that have trouble communicating with other humans.
Maybe his excuse is that he finds the dog disgusting and doesn't want his place to be disgusting for the next fifteen years. Maybe he doesn't have the energy to deal with it. Either way, it is still a dumb, servile dog, and it will be fine as long as it has a master.
People seem comfortable placing mentally and physically handicapped family in group homes with trained staff, all in the name of what is "best" for the handicapped person, but they judge someone who wants to get rid of a dog.

Are you saying that over 43 million households have trouble communicating with one another? Of these 43 million households, it is estimated that there are 70 million dogs inside them.
Or are you just some internet bad arse that has life all figured out and seeks to play contrarian when the opportunity presents itself?

I'm glad you're doing the right thing and not just dumping the dog off. We took in a BMC that some bitch decided wasn't "a good fit" until we found him a home. Nice retired couple from Connecticut adopted him and he's running around on a couple dozen acres up there now.
No it isn't, but it's still not the dog's fault that you're a dumb arse. I hope you've at least learned something from this and don't decide to pick up a puppy for your kid in the future. Kids are fickle and if you aren't willing to take care of the dog and train him whether he's a good fit with your kids or not, you shouldn't bother.

Name one group home that puts handicapped people down after a period of time, and you'll have a point.

My god, you people cannot avoid retarding yourselves. Killing a human is not akin to killing a dog. Institutionalizing a human for a birth condition is a far more sinister act than killing any dog.

Judging by the divorce rates and the number of people avoiding marriage altogether, I'd say, with certainty, that forty-three million households have communicative issues.
Forty-seven percent of America homes would have issues producing four hundred dollars cash on a moments notice.

Not enough time for a puppy. You're teaching your son awesome life lessons though.... Just give up when shite is rough.

A 6 year old is way to young to care of a puppy. You should know that. Dog obedience classes and let the dog be strictly an out door dog. You can take care of him. Outdoor dogs are not that much work. Heck, go get another puppy so he will have someone to chill with outside.
