Nah. I try to leave Louisiana as little as possible

Yeah that’s what they always say and then you are doing class three scrambling and somebody starts strapping a hook on you and you are rappelling and saying “ I thought this was a hike “ lol.
And Aconcagua is pretty hard to reach , no?

I HAVE REACHED THE SUMMIT OF MY TEN FOOT LADDER THREE OR FOUR TIMES A YEAR AROUND THE HOUSE! No thanks on the mountain.

Yes assuming part of the trip was a training program beforehand

You're responsible for your own training before hand. And they can stop you if they don't think you can do it. And it's nonrefundable.

You can fly direct to Mendoza now, then a few hours bus ride and a mule trek to basecamp.

I’ll have to take your word for it . I’m too old and creaky for any real difficulty, I want to do some easy distance . My goal now is Shikoku Henro and as soon as I can justify 2 months away from it all I’m going.

Nope, driving to the top of Mt.Magazine and walking the hundred or so yards off the road to the highest point in Arkansas is plenty of adventure for me.
What's the highest point in LA? I may try to summit it sometime.
I have also driven to the highest points in GA and NC and got close to TN's.

Mt. Driskill
Be aware there's a Sherpa strike going on right now until safer standards are adopted for navigating the death zone. Avalanches are an extreme danger until late June.

That's pretty much my response. Several years ago I read "into Thin Air" and I was thinking nopenopenope throughout the read.
Last night I watched the movie based on that book; nopenopenopenopenope was my occurring thought.
Those flimsy extension ladders strung across those ice falls???? No way in ducking hell would I ever try that. Nopenopenopenope.

Nope. I like hiking and have hiked through extreme heat, but frick the cold. When it takes you you literally lose the will to fight back. You lay down and body shuts down.
It isn't worth it one bit. I don't admire the folks who do it and don't feel bad for those who succumb to those elements.

I’d rather go to the beach or see a movie or something

Hell, I fell into my grandparents pool once during the winter in Mississippi and barely felt like I could get myself out and go inside. Being that cold is legitimately debilitating and that wouldn’t be anywhere close to what it would feel like up there in half the oxygen levels while all your joints ache because your body is trying to freeze solid.

Your brain even tells you, "Freak it, go to sleep" and you just do it wothout any fear in the world.
Scary as shite. Like a horror film in nature.

I am actually returning from a trip to India / Nepal right now (currently in the Amsterdam airport). I had a chance to take a flight to see Everest and the Himalayas and it was really cool.
As for climbing it, if I could take a few months to build toward it physically and then have the all-star team of Everest guides / climbers work exclusively with me to coach me up for however long that required (maybe climb some other mountains first) and I had all the best equipment, sherpas, etc., and everyone’s sole job was to help me get to the summit and back down without incident, then yes, I think I would give it a try.
As it is, I would love to hike to Everest Base Camp and/or the Annapurna Circuit. One of those two is a possibility for me one day. Not likely but possible. Definitely don’t have the time or money to do a climb to the summit.
Based on all my research, though, K2 (the second highest mountain) is actually much more difficult to climb than Everest. It has steeper slopes, it’s more remote, and it has worse weather.
