Those candles do absolutely nothing (obviously). My wife brought them home one day all excited to try it out. Being skeptical, I made her use one in her ear and just let the other one burn on it's own. They looked exactly the same in the end.

They got some nasty fricks out there...I produce a lot with allergies and such...if I go a couple months without q tipping my ears, mine would get like that
