NEW ROADS- Pointe Coupee Parish Justice of the Peace Randy Guidroz submitted his resignation to the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office and the Louisiana Judiciary Commission on Tuesday.
It came less than 12 hours after a WBRZ Investigative Unit report highlighting a recommendation by the Commission to suspend Guidroz for 180 days without pay. The Commission referenced the WBRZ Investigative Unit stories in their findings.
Same person:
Ghost Employee collected taxpayer money for 12 years, no record or any work done
Ghost Employee billed overtime and paid despite not signing time sheets
I still want to know what this guy was doing with a Sheriff’s vehicle that required him driving 110,000 miles in 18 months. Almost none of the gas charges were at stations in Pointe Coupee Parish. Some major corruption there.
From 2020:
quote:
Guidroz was issued a Dodge Ram Truck with 10 miles on it, but when it was turned in last month, it had 110,000 miles on it. Fuel receipts show Guidroz was fueling up nearly every other day outside of Pointe Coupee Parish. It's unclear what he was doing.

It seems in America now, working is for people too stupid to game the corrupt govt out of free stuff.
Great example here of wasted tax dollars. Govt corruption.

Sounds like the sheriff needs to be brought up on charges.

These criminals are foolish if they think they can escape the watchful eye of Chris Nakamoto

Wonder if he was driving down to Grand Isle every other day.

this is why you don’t hire ghosts, they just aren’t reliable

Him and the person receiving the kickback should all be in jail, but we know nothing will be done about it.

314 Round trips = 110,000 miles so it would take him 21 months at taking the trip every other day.
Pretty close on your math, I suspect it was not a guess on your part.

I wonder how many of these people exist in government roles?

And spooks aren't exactly known for their loyalties.

I remember that. Can’t believe nothing more came out about this and he wasn’t terminated then. Wonder if this isn’t actually a ghost employee and instead is a slush fund/vehicle used for off the record stuff.

I think his former boss is in a band down there.

His replacement found this huge dumpster fire of corruption and called the media about 3-4 years ago. But I don't think anyone will get arrested.

He was terminated then by the new Sheriff (Thibodeaux) when this all came out a few years back. But he was still a Justice of the Peace according to the article.

There were rumors that this vehicle was used for off the record pickups and deliveries to the former Sheriff. I don't think any of those rumors have ever been completely proven or disproven. Some employees blew the whistle what was really going on after he lost the election to Rene Thibodeaux. This was a 2016 Trump style election from what I hear - it was a surprise to nobody except the person who lost. So the criminal infrastructure wasn't really cleaned up entirely and the next guy ended up finding it and exposing it.
The posters who said something about Grand Isle has likely heard similar rumors as me. No idea if those rumors are true, but I am interested in learning where all of those fuel stops outside of the jurisdiction were.
There are other rumors that the employee was using that truck for a personal business, which is almost as bad. It would explain the high mileage.
New Roads is an adorable but highly corrupt little town with a lot of political power. I still don't understand how they got that bridge built when a larger metro like Baton Rouge can't figure out how to do the same. Not that I'm complaining about infrastructure being built....but it's just weird that New Roads got their new bridge and a bypass within the last 15 years while the rest of the state struggles to get anything done.

What position this ghost person play?

Glad to see muckraker Nakamoto solving the important problems. There is almost assuredly a boatload of corruption to find in BR/EBR...if he actually wanted to look. Instead, I'm sure the dog catcher in West Baton Rouge is terrified today knowing Nakamoto will soon bust his scam of buying a 3 Musketeers bar every Friday on the parish credit card.
