Then go without it.

The issue here is that the OP couldn’t see beneath/through the shower floor and tile, so how can he report something he can’t see.

Hopefully they’ll work with him to see if any coverage applies to help out, although it looks like they’re sticking to the book rather than trying to help.

Complaints like this to the insurance commissioner usually get laughed at, except if you have a company that is currently try to obtain or keep certain ratings.

Nah, use it on gaming accounts and adds extra humor, to a humorous post. The account linked hasn't posted in 2 years as well, hardly much of an alter. If the name was available I'd steal it though.

They have no legal obligation to “help out”. The guy’s claim is not covered.

He's not getting the claim anyway.

That is FAR from decided. Is that how you go through life? Every time someone says something you don't like, rather than negotiate or discuss alternatives you just scream out "I will sue you!?!?!" Because that is how we have gotten to the point in society that we are at right now.

Just wait till OP Realizes he's going to get surcharged for next several years for a claim he never received a dollar for.

Exactly. All types of insurance are scams. They're fine when you're sending them money for nothing but when you need them they'll search for any way possible not to cover you.

Yep. If people would take the time to understand how insurance works then a lot of denied claims and resulting surcharges can be prevented. Hate to see that happen to people.

Before I buy a house, I always get a termite inspection and a full house/foundation inspection before I actually commit to it. It may be more money out front (termite inspection is free) for the inspection but well worth it in the end. And like someone else said, you have the paper trail.

He really needs to read his policy and see what it says about hidden damages. There may be coverage there depending on the policy language.

Sorry you dont know how it works behind the scenes, but that is it.

People assume they are out to get you or the size of the claim matters, but all they care about is how the policy is worded(contract) and processing the claim according to that
