You have to escalate when that happens the first time to insure it doesn’t become normal behavior. I told my my wife “oh really? You want a mutha fricka to talk to? After 18 years, you trying to meet the mutha fricking beast? I buried that mutha fricka and vowed never to let him roam free in this world again long before I met you. But here you are now trying to get a peek of the beast.” From there, I just went into the worst cut down rant on all of her shortcomings and faults. Called her a bug eyed fat bitch and told her the sound of her eating was vomit inducing not only to me but even to our dogs. Even to the birds and the squirrels a mile away. She cried very hard after a 5 minute lambasting of insults but it made her better at watching her mouth. I explained to her after that I didn’t mean any of what I said but was trying to teach her how bad mean and ugly words can hurt someone that loves you and I can tell you, it worked.

This is the exactly perfect forum to come to for sympathy

I'd argue if you're at the point of name calling each other in a relationship, even a marriage, to each other's faces then there's likely other issues.

I've had disagreements with my SO but I've never considered calling him a motherfricker.
