NYC auburn I stand corrected. Must have a serious final drive to,reach 253. My GtR would do 202 in the 1/2 at about 1250 whp. I could maybe see 230s out if it in the mile but I for sure didn't want to try it out. But the car weighed 4K also with me in it. Have also heard from quite a few people in the Houston scene that the Venoms were very problem ridden. Steven Tyler gave his away through his charity because it stayed in Sealy more than he had it. JH was driving it around during TX2k last year.

The Venom GT did 250 and its only got 1200hp. aero dynamics and weight are what gets you there
Actually 253. But start doing the math, to get that extra 47mph in that car you are going to need probably 1100 to 1300 more hp. Up near 300 you need a ton more horsepower just to gain 10mph.

I'm guessing they just chance it with the tires
Yes, the veyron tires are made to run for several minutes. I know the Underground Racing cars that's go 250 just use a Toyo R888 road racing tire and they are fine for shorter bursts.

Where can I purchase said street legal car with a roll cage..?
Are you suggesting a car cannot be street legal and have a cage? Or are you conflating street legal to production car?

Looks like it is too low as well, but that is just eyeball considering what they did underneath.
Rarely enforced anyway.

the M2k GT had 2500hp, but also weighs about 30% more than the venom GT.
Someone will get to 300mph soon and more than likely it will be a sub 2500-2600lbs and around 2000hp car

no street racers 1/4 mile anymore, cars are just too fast now it's all about the 1/8 mile.

Never looked at the GTs but most everyone else runs triple 8s. I think the highest they are rated is non-parenthesis Y so they are tested to 186. From there is simply faith.

Wanna bet on that? It will be one of those two GTs and both are pushing over 2600hp...

I will be there tomorrow morning to see if M2K can break 300. Cool temps, and lower winds early. Not happening later in the day. Sunday morning may actually be the better time to make the fastest run.

Standing Mile is for braging rights w/ a higher chance of failure, more power to them.
Texas Invitational 2K is where it's at IMO.
This setup will do 260mph in the 1/2 mile.

Is that faster than a Bugatti?

Not to diminish street car miles runs, but this 300 mph talk brings to light just how incredibly powerful top fuel drag cars are in doing 330 mph in 1000'.
