NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis is recovering after a minor stroke, but he’s expected to make a full recovery.

A statement from his publicist says the 83-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer had a stroke Thursday night and is recuperating in Memphis. His publicist, Zach Farnum, said no scheduled shows have been affected.

I'm more interested in how he pronounced "scheduled" than anything else.

It’s incredible to me that music has revolved so far but so quickly that the creators of the “old” rock n roll, the real ancient stuff that was honestly so tame by even standards just twenty years later let alone today, are still alive with who knows how many years left.

Chuck berry passed just a couple years ago, the grandfather of rock n roll. He had just released an album not long before, or it was released posthumously or something like that. Now, one of his many influenced, Angus, is still carrying on the duck walking legacy. Working on yet another album. Can’t wait. The evolution of rock from chuck to angus is incredible, and in less than twenty years. And now rock/metal has grown so far beyond even that. Yet those founders are still so many of them alive.

In my mind, it’s like if the guy who invented the longbow for warfare had passed away just last month while we’ve got nukes and stealth bombers going.
