My neighbor hired my other neighbors kid to pressure wash his driveway earlier this summer. Kid had an electric. He was freaking sitting down while do it. I guess cause his back was starting to hurt. It took him the whole weekend lol

I have a 2000psi electric and it has worked fine cleaning brick, concrete, deck and siding.

Same, it was cheap and it isn't all that pleasurable to use, but it's cleaned everything I've thrown at it

well sure, it'll work. And if you don't have anywhere to go for 2 days, you can clean all of 9 square feet really well

Gas by a mile unless you're doing very light work and not often

You make a good point. For the bigger jobs I'm thinking about I wouldn't do those frequently at all, even the smaller gas-powered home owner pressure washers would be too small. And all I need for washing vehicles is an electric one. Maybe that's the route I need to consider: rent big one for big/infrequent jobs, buy small electric one for small/frequent jobs.

Gas.

Shop flow rate, not pressure. They all make a shitload of pressure, at least the ones I've seen. Flow rate over 3000 psi is where you make shite happen fast.

Yes, it will do all that but at a much slower pace. The nozzle has to be held closer and moved slower than say a 3000psi unit.

OP, get at least a 3000psi gas unit, put only ethanol free gas mixed with Sta-bill gas treatment. I keep a 1 gallon can mixed and ready to go for all my 4 cycle gas engines.

I would look for a unit that does not have the water inlet and outlet at the very bottom of the unit. I have a bad back and it is a pain trying to attach the water hose and pressure hose every time.

Look into renting a real high powered gas one. I purchased a gas and it takes me a long time to do the cleaning that I need to do.

Somewhere around 2500psi is about where you can clean well. They key is a high GPM output. More water, more work done. A turbo nozzle will turn most washers into a beast if you buy the correct orifice size for your pressure-gpm.

Pro tip. Research makes and models and read lots of reviews. Once you decide, check walmart.com for their price on it. They carry a lot of them, and you can return to any store. This is important because pw are shipped via freight (big arse truck) usually.

I bought electric from Sams. Does exactly what I need for concrete, brick, and fences. Never have to fill it up. Would buy again.

Get the Ryobi gas powered one from Home Depot. Uses a Honda engine. Think is awesome. Like everyone is saying, electric power washers are for Subaru drivers.

I was given an electric one and it works fine for what the OP wants, light stuff around the house. I've done bricks, driveway, patio, and fencing with it. Works fine.

If id need something with some brute force, Id rent it.

My question would be, what are you going to use it on?

For lighter or delicate things, electric is perfect but for basically everything else, gas is the route to go

DO NOT buy electric. Will not do it. Way more power and I also am somewhat concerned with the electric/water combo.

Had algae growing all over one side of the house and it looks like new after pressure washing it.

PSI is great but I thought it was the GPM that really makes the difference?

You need gas powered if you plan on using it after sundown while armed. It'll complete the look.

Electric. Look at the best sellers on Amazon. They've come a long way.

Same one I have. Just be careful, that 0 degree setting will take a foot off or carve a hole in your concrete

I have a driveway that goes from the front yard to the garage in the backyard. Sidewalk, front porch and patio. The last time I cleaned it took me about 5 hours and my neighbor was pissed.
