Not necessarily.
They just need to take this sad occasion, and yet opportunity to refresh the format of the show.
First of all, get rid of or at least modify that cringy interview portion of the show. Who gives a shite if Bill the accountant from Denver was once in an elevator with Don Knotts. This would increase the probability of finishing the board and not having unanswered clues remaining.
Secondly, make it a damn quiz show again, and not TV show.
Subtle brag incoming, but I had two auditions for Jeopardy!, so I have somewhat of an idea of what kind of contestants they are looking for.
Let the autist on the show, and let them have at it. There are hundreds of Ken Jennings out there that are not otherwise "TV friendly material".
Believe me, an audience would tune in.

Someone said at the start of the show how much Trebek loved doing the show.
