We already did this thread this week.

Shocking that the OP, probably a boomer, can't figure out how to do a simple search on a computer

I doubt it, because you let your Pinterest wives dictate your life.

I'm not married, so good thing this doesn't apply to me. However, having a good time with friends does. Sounds like you don't have any friends.

when mrs sodcutter found out what we were having, we sent it in the form of a text message to everybody. Way cheaper than a party.

Exactly. Do I care or want to go? Hell no. But I really don't care to get in a pointless argument and then not get any for the next week. It's easier to swallow up my pride while I go spend 2 hours drinking beer and posting on TD

if I had to do everything my wife told me to or she would threaten to not have sex with me, I would be in a sexless marriage. Y’all need to learn how to put yalls foot down once in a while and quit letting your SOs wear the pants in your relationships.

That’s strange considering I just had a cookout with my wife and our friend group this weekend. Our reasoning is we wanted to shoot guns. 50 cal and steaks is a much better reason than gender reveals. We all have kids already and not one gender reveal party in the bunch.

You want a cookie? I'll ship you a cookie, from Mountain Top Cookies in Breck. I'm not a sweets eater, but I tried one this weekend and they're really frickin delicious.

My wife and I got into a huge argument over this. I made it clear that I thought a gender reveal party was dumb and she took great offense.

In the end, it happened but it really wasn’t bad. We made it a crawfish boil and I cooked crawfish and drank beer. People came over and we had a good time with friends and family. Not a big deal.

But deep down inside, I’ll admit that I think we as a society are going down a weird Pinterest hole. There’s too much “well everyone is doing it and it’s normal” thing going on now. Because people share their shite too much.

What I cannot figure out is why any “man” would agree to be a part of this stupidity.

I totally agree. I don't attend a lot of events that are now considered co-ed, like bridal showers, baby showers, these reveal parties, no kids birthday parties other than CLOSE, immediate family, not some friend or cousin's kid I've not seen in a year.

Of all those things, how many were you legit invited too?

The only one I that would make sense is a kids birthday and you are only “obligated” to go if you have kids around the same age.

This entire thread is just people living in fear of another social function. I think big overly thought gender reveals are stupid and pure attention seeking. However, y’all are pretending like it’s some big bother on your life is silly.

I think it is the opposite. Some people have to find some social media reason to do things instead of just going hangout with your friends without sharing every bit of it with the world. Got to find ways to get the likes and reasons to make those pinterest fails.

Meh I don't think it's anything to get worked up over. The parents are just excited about their new baby.

It's not something I'd personally do, but I'm not going to think badly of someone who wants to have one. When you're pregnant the first thing people ask is what you're having and what the name is, it excites people (women).

This might be true if these parties were the only times these friends got together, but that is almost never the case. Why can't people enjoy both?
