Most ppl screw off at work and barely accomplish things anyways. Some ppl know how to skate better than others when it comes to it

FIFY.

This article makes way too much effort trying to justify and explain this phenomenon, when the answer is quite obvious.

They are faking.

Well I can't do this. My work would pile up if I slacked off. But I'm rewarded for getting ahead of my work by getting extra crap dumped on me that the slackers don't do.

And I want to apologize for the invention of Play Dates our wives concocted. We tried to tell them.

Considering the damage done by the group above and the ridiculousness of the others, I would say Gen X is doing alright
Gen X created this current fricked up crop of kids.

Gen X acts like a bastion of self-reliance, yet their kids are more fricked up than the kids raised by the boomers (millennials), which is saying A LOT.

oh wow, treating children with kiddie gloves their whole life and affirming all their fantasies has negative consequences when they grow up?

Who would have guessed it.

RF’s research made a striking realization that young women are now 1.6 times more likely than men to take time off work due to ill health. It reversed a trend of young men taking more time off in the 2010s, and the dial has only shifted thanks to a steep rise in female illness in the last couple of years.

Not to brag (because I regret never using sick time) but I’ve called in sick exactly one time in my life. Every time I’ve been legitimately sick, I either WFH or was on vacation/between jobs.

I use up all my sick days (not to brag) because I’m not a boot licker.

So yeah, if she's Gen Z, this certainly checks out.

Gen Z is about 15 to 26 right now.

Unfortunately, yes. We made their lives too easy, so now they're soft.

I hired a young girl in the office and there would be days she would make it to the parking lot and couldn’t come in. No reason what so ever just anxiety

Post Covid Daycare and school have been breeding ground for the grossest crud. They are all constantly sick

So damn true. Last fall my 2 kids got every seasonal pathogen possible. Stomach bug, strep, FluA, RSV, strep for the older one and flu b. All within about a 6 week timeframe. I had to rotate couple sick days with my wife (no pics) just to stay home with them. Not once did my wife or myself get sick. A 2 year old with a stomach bug is what I imagine hell to be like.

My generation is a fricking mess, Scruffy is definitely aware of that.

Hell, millennials will likely raise even worse kids than Gen X.

Each subsequent generation has fricked up their kids more than the previous one.

Scruffy just finds it funny how Gen X on here acts like the ultimate generation when their offspring are broken mentally and physically.

The RF says universities have become “hotbeds” for mental health problems
The universities are inheriting the problem, it isn’t beginning there.

College used to be the chance for an adolescent to prove that they were ready to be an adult. Universities cannot service that role in society any longer; if they catered to that ‘test your ability to face the world’ customer segment, they would quickly go bankrupt.

I don’t see anything wrong with taking PTO you’re allotted. Just be smart about how you’re using it and don’t be a problem.

Never taking any sick days isn’t really a badge of honor, but taking an excessive amount isn’t good for appearances. Just be smart.

Scruffy and Sao could share a beer honestly. Scruffy's dad and Sao w Gen Y Scruffy and Gen Z Sao's kid would be fun, too. I'd listen to y'all for hours until last call.

Been working since I was 15, I'm 40 now, and I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've called in sick.

Granted I was self-employed for 18 years, but still.
