This little fella was sleeping by the radiator of one of our dump trucks.

I guess he's a rat snake? Or a Got Dang Cobra Kang.

You looked at that and weren't sure if it was venomous?

I need one of those in my yard bad. The rats/mice/birds have been tearing apart my vegetable gardens the past year. The owl and rooster dummies don't seem to be scaring them enough

Probably was snacking on some field mice before they ate up some wiring. As others have said, that's a beautiful rat snake, and a guy you want to hang around.

Rat snake.

I do appreciate that it’s actually a good photo of the head and pupils.

I had a much smaller rat snake in my garage a few weeks ago. I removed it from the garage but he can hang out in my backyard all he wants.

Our building backs up to sugar cane fields, so I'm sure its a veritable smorgasbord for him.

Rat snake. Rattle Snake. Tomato. Tomahto.

They're all the same to me.

Serious question. What’s the easiest way to identify the difference between venomous/non venomous snakes?

That's a chicken snake. Similar to a rat snake, but with better taste in food.

Snakes are misunderstood creatures, most are domicile other than those cottonmouth assholes that will charge you in the woods.
