So you are projecting the attitudes of a poster on TD to the Catholic Church? That makes sense.

So you're taking all posts on the OT as literal reflections of posters' true beliefs on a topic? That makes sense.

So is the guy suing?

I'm quite certain that eventually this will happen based on either a gay person being denied communion or more likely a church declining to perform a gay wedding. It's coming and when it does, the last vestiges of freedom of religion in this country will be swept away.

Right. Which the higher ups condemned.

seems to me that the Catholic Church can be a bit confusing

If you are a man that fricks men, you should not receive the Eucharist. It really isn't confusing.

I'm waiting for when these stories start being about atheists

What is a satirist to do when life is the absurdity?

I hope your right but I fear, thanks to their overly broad interpretation of the 14th amendment and the equal protection clause, that they would go the other way.

God you people are pitiful

Pitiful is thinking you should have a voice in how others view the morality of a subject...or even worse, in how the church itself offers one of its sacraments.

right, but maybe if he received communion he would have started going to church more and miraculously stopped liking the penis?

Communion isn't something used to boost church membership. I'm a Christian but no longer a practicing Catholic and I wouldn't even try to receive communion during a Catholic mass/funeral/wedding.

And if he truly had a genuine interest in going to church more he would have talked to the priest privately afterwards about why exactly he was denied communion instead of running to the media.

every single judge, even the ones that voted for gay marriage, stated that the law protects churches from being forced to perform gay marriage

He should not be in line. This is not difficult.

He should not be in line. If he is in line, which he should not be, then give it to him, even though he should not be in line.

I have been told not to go to communion by a priest while waiting on the bishop to bless out marriage that was outside the church.

There are some rules of the church that you cant get around. Hell you cant even be a god parent to a child unless you are confirmed. Is that discrimination??

For those interested, a priest who isn't associated with this incident commented on the article, explaining line by line what the church teaches on this subject.

Just give it time. Now that the SJW's have won the day for gay marriage, they're going to have to move on to their next cause to further "progress" the progressive movement. In fact I think the opening moves are already starting to take shape with calls for removal of tax exempt status from churches. I think this is the avenue of attack they will use. Sure churches will be free to deny gay weddings, but to do so they'll forfeit their tax exempt status. Perhaps even face stiff fines in the same manner the bakery in Oregon who refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding. It may not be a quick process, but if there's one things these SJW have shown is that they're in it for the long haul. They won't give up until they eventually find a means to "fundamentally transform" the nature of churches in this country into full acceptance of the gay lifestyle.

I don't see what's wrong with this or why it is even a litigious event?

The Catholics believe he is living in mortal sin and those living in unconfessed mortal sin cannot receive communion.

Well considering you can be denied communion for a number of reasons, including divorce, in a catholic church, then this was to be expected...
