Was $7.35 in Catalina last week. Of course it is an island, but just damn. $20.00 taxi for a mile and a half commute or $50.00 an hour for a golf cart. Good times

I guess that's a bit subjective.
The issue with California is that their regulation levels are so different that refineries have to produce fuel that meets California specs, which means they run at near capacity all the time. The product is more expensive due to regulation and taxation

Gas taxes will keep rising, since it's the go to bucket to fund social programs. JBE wants to start that here under the guise of fixing roads, despite squandering funds already intended for our roads.

Louisiana has TOO MANY state highways to maintain. Get rid of the state highways that are underutilized and either give them those roadways to the Parishes to maintain, sell them off, or take them out. Haynes Blvd in New Orleans East is a state highway? Why?! Loyola Drive in Kenner is a state highway? WHY?!
Gonzales/St. Amant/Galvez there are tons of state highways which should be decommissioned and given over to the Parish to maintain. Do we really need a state highway to maintain so that 10 cars a day can travel to Lone Star, Louisiana?
Get rid of the underutilized or Parish subsidized state highways and use that money to build up our infrastructure on highways that are actually used by population centers.

Yeah, would rather a higher gas tax. It is the most democratic means of taxing. If you use it you pay for it.
