Absolutely the dumbest thing I've read in a long arse time. Drunk, loser thugs have done drunk, loser thug things since the beginning of time. Do you think he drunkenly stopped to contemplate who the President is? The current political climate? The removal of the statues? Or is it possible he was just a drunk that allegedly beat up a older, weaker man because of something that set him off.
Everything on the left has to be tied to some larger movement. Perhaps, there are just drunk, possibly racist assholes on earth that do stupid and awful things that they will be punished for.
fricking, "normalization of hate speech" ... What a crock.

If there is surveillance footage that corroborates the witness statements and he confessed to kicking the guy in the head for no reason because he was drunk and pissed off, you will probably be right. But that is unknown at this point. Unless, as it appears, you know more information that is publicly available.

Again, we'll just agree to disagree. I've been on the receiving side of having to try dog shite murders before giving 15 or 20, and none of those would have resulted in protests outside the office like this one would.

you must have been a prosecutor. I started as one as well. We will have to agree to disagree. 25 isn't going to happen IMO.
You were a prosecutor and you never saw a young person plead to manslaughter at around 25 years? It’s not that uncommon of a plea deal for a murder charge. It’s the old defendants who don’t want to serve 25 years Bc that’s effectively a death sentence.

What are the chances this actually goes to trial?
Posted on 6/7/18 at 2:56 pm to lsu13lsu
Sure they could, but while the office may go the restorative justice route and sit everyone down in the same room to let them feel like they get their verbal pound of flesh and tearful apologies (in addition to $$$), it would still be with a 25 year sentence on his end.

Not necessarily. I've seen guys with incredible criminal histories that the DA wants badly get 20 on man where the case could have gone either way.
Without seeing all of the evidence it is premature to say he will likely get 35 years.
You're responding to someone who was a prosecutor in New Orleans. I think tLSU knows what kinds of sentences are likely.

I'm well aware, and still disagree with the blanket assertions he has made. But again, he might know more about the facts of the case than the general public does and could end up being correct. But we can agree to disagree.

Skis are easier than you might believe.

If I were him, I would just kill myself before even going to trial. His life is over, might as well save himself years of misery and the tax payers a few dollars.
I'd attempt to disappear before I'd resort to killing myself.

If anyone in here was looking at 25-30 behind bars for beating an old black man to death (this matters in prison), would you not flee?
I'd be gone. No fricking chance I'd stick around.
Given your relationship to the guy and his friends/family, if he runs, I blaming you.

How would one even go about fleeing? Where would you go?

I have a friend who is a pilot and has access to a sea plane. I'd have him drop me off of the coast of a Caribbean island or something. I'd get a job as a bartender or some shite
